Bring real samples together: cabinetry, stone, floor, paint, and metal finishes. Evaluate them in the same lighting conditions rather than in separate online photos.

Balance character with maintenance.

Natural materials can develop patina. Engineered alternatives can offer easier care. Neither is automatically superior; the right choice depends on your priorities and how the room is used.
